Repairs and mods to housing scale models
David Wilson Homes
We have just finished a scale model for David Wilson Homes (Scotland) for a development near East Kilbride at Nerston Village. The scale of the model is 1:50 and the whole model is on a base plate measuring 2050 x 500mm.

It is a fully rendered architectural physical model to scale (1:50) of 6 individual house types. In the photo below Peter Hacking, a David Wilson Homes Senior Architectural Technician, is checking the interior layouts.

The house types are 421 with garage, 454, 502 with garage, 536 and 908 with a garage. The concept is unusual as each house can be taken apart to show the room layouts.

The CAD 3D architectural rendering below is the house type 908

The model was produced in less than 6 weeks and the CAD 3D architectural rendering in 6 days.
Wedrawfast completes Croydon montages
Wedrawfast, one of Britain’s brightest building design firms and we have recently produced physical scale models and photo-realistic montages for two regeneration schemes being masterminded by Croydon City Council.

The scale models have been designed for two ambitious sports centres, and will go on public display to show the external finishes and the facilities such as swimming pools, gym and squash courts and their layout.
As well as being a model shop, Wedrawfast is a highly-regarded CAD studio, producing architectural renderings and walkthrough animations. We are currently producing models and photo-realistic planning montages for regeneration schemes in Portsmouth, Dublin and East Kilbride.

A Successful Approach
Given the pressure imposed by deadlines on all phases of a client’s regeneration scheme, Wedrawfast has succeeded by stipulating that full designs, plans and elevations (including site levels) be supplied by the client in digital format, and, wherever possible, photos of the proposed external finishes be proferred, along with a landscape plan.
Contact chris@wedrawfast.com for more information on visual support at each stage of a Regeneration Scheme.
Planning Application Support and Design Tool
|
Throughout March and April we have been assisting our client in the preparation of their planning application for a mixed use development in the south side of Manchester Our input was to produce two CAD 3D photomontages that allowed the local authority to compare the proposed situation with current situation and where applicable ghost in other building developments that have been approved but not started. |

During the exercise we were used as a tool to test out different materials and elevation designs. In parallel with the architectural renderings that we produced a massing block model to scale which at the time of this Newsletter is still being modified following feed back from the planners. Photographs of the model were used during the planning application process. |
